All calls may be recorded for monitoring and quality purposes. Such recordings can be made available with 28 days notice should a query arise.
BOOKINGS:
At time of booking, the first hour labour charge is taken and this is non refundable. This applies to all bookings, Domestic, Commercial or Industrial. During bank holidays this will increase to 2 hours.
CANCELLATIONS:
Domestic properties
As a 24 hour emergency company cancellations are charged. By calling and making a booking you are accepting the Terms & Conditions set out on this site.
After 5pm weekdays and from 5pm Friday until 8am Monday and bank holidays, this will be the first hour quoted plus vat. If you choose to then cancel the booking due to us not being able to make the appointment as advised then no cancellation fee will be applied.
All commercial properties will have a cancellation fee of the first hour quoted plus vat.
During Bank holidays including, Good Friday,Christmas eve, Christmas day, Boxing day, New year’s eve and New year’s day and after 10pm until 5am, there is a minimum of 2 hour charge for attendance.
While every effort is made to make the scheduled appointment. We cannot guarantee appointment times due to unforeseen circumstances.
Should this happen we will contact you and keep you updated.
Engineers at times may take video or photographic evidence before and after a job is completed, this is for continuity in works, this can be made available with 28 days notice, should the customer have any queries, complaints or concerns regarding works carried out. At no time will any information be contained within video/photographs of the identity of the customer nor any other part of the house other than the room work is being carried out in.
Prices quoted are subject to a site survey.
We do not charge a call out fee, which means we do not charge to travel to you
All customers making the booking must be over the age of 18 and and an adult be available on site at the time of the visit .
Please note that we will charge for any time spent by our engineer diagnosing the work to be carried out. (a minimum of 1 hour charged at rate advised)
At the time of your call we would take credit or debit card details which secure your booking. Payment is then taken for the first hour at time of booking, once the engineer has attended full payment or additional costs will be taken and a receipt can be emailed or posted to you. By accepting this booking, you are agreeing to these terms.
Once payment is taken all card details are destroyed. Should you then wish to make a further booking details would be requested again. This is in line with GDPRS and ICO regulations.
If you are claiming on any insurances, we are not able to enter into any correspondence with your insurance company without a letter of authority from yourselves. This is to be a posted hard copy.
An email is sent to you confirming your booking and also contains an attachment of our terms & conditions for you to read.
All work is paid per hour, we do not do pro rata. ( i.e if the engineer is on site 1 hour 20 minutes then 2 hours are chargeable)
Which also includes, any work quoted on an hourly rate or fixed price work. (The hour’s labour charge will also apply if our engineer is turned away from site without any notification being given).
If further works are required and a supply and fit price is quoted, a deposit of 50% is taken to secure the booking.
All appointments made for works to be carried out (including fixed price works and estimates) with the company are done so with payment due immediately upon completion
Should an engineer attend a site and finds the work cannot be done on the grounds of health and safety and we were not notified of any issues then a minimum of 1 hour will be charged.
Prices and Payment
Any prices or rates advised are subject to VAT at the prevailing rate.
All payments are due upon completion of works as agreed at time of booking.
For any late payments whether in part or in full of an invoice to the company, will be subject to the daily interest rate of 3% over the base rate per month, until the payment in full is received by the company.
Certificates or other similar documents will not be issued until payment has been received in full
Removal of Waste and Materials
We at CMH LOCAL (Check my home LTD) will not responsible for the removal of any waste materials. The customer is responsible for the removal of any/all waste materials resulting from the works carried out by the company.
We have a vast network of accredited engineers available.
Our engineers have been vetted by CMH LOCAL (Check My Home Ltd) this allows us to provide the best reactive maintenance.
All Gas Safe engineers operate under their own Gas Safe registration, and a such are solely responsible for any gas related work and subsequent liability.
90% of works are generally completed within the first hour.
Our response time is subject to availability at the time of booking and location of job and works needed to be carried out. Our 1-hour emergency service is subject to a premium charge from that of CMH Local (Check My home Ltd)
standard charges.
Minimum rate for planned works would be from £95 per hour plus VAT
After hours, Emergencies, weekends and bank holidays are chargeable at a higher rate.
Parking
If parking restrictions are in place please supply a parking permit otherwise parking costs will be added to the final invoice.
For London areas within the congestion charging area an additional charge maybe added to cover costs
Locating Parts / Further Works/Planned Works
If it has been established that a part is needed for the repair and we do not have in our vast vehicle stock, we would actively search all local stockists. However, if we cannot locate the part required and the stockist are unable to order we will inform you immediately and await your further instruction.
If any planned works are quoted for and materials ordered and job is then cancelled, there is a fee of 10-20% which covers handling charge for returning goods to store / or postal costs.
Where the Company agrees to carry out works on installations of inferior quality or over ten years old at that date no warranty is given in respect of such works & the
Company accepts no liability in respect of the effectiveness of such works or otherwise.
All defects must be notified to the company by the customer within 24 hours of works being completed.
Where any guarantee is given for parts, this will become null & void should the fault be due to misuse or negligence.
This also applies if part has been tampered or modified by anyone other than a CMH LOCAL (Check My Home Ltd) approved engineer.
This inspection shall only apply to work carried out and completed by the company that has been paid in full by the customer.
Following the inspection and it transpires the alleged defect is not the result of any work or service carried out or provided by the company, the company reserves the right to make a charge to the customer for the inspection visit at its standard rate.
The company reserves the right to not carry out any repair work where the customer cannot provide sufficient evidence that the work was originally carried out by the company, or where full payment has not been received for said work.
Materials
All materials remain the property of CMH Local (check My Home Ltd) until paid for in full. Failure to make payment or return part will result in legal action.
Where materials are supplied by the customer, we do not offer any warranty on those parts. Nor can we guarantee the efficiency of parts not supplied by CMH LOCAL (Check My Home Ltd)
We allow 20 minutes each way for the engineer to go off site to collect materials if required, any further and there will be a charge, which will be discussed if required.
We may be able to give advice over the phone in an emergency situation, (turning water off, or to avert any further damage to property) this is given freely and will be the responsibility of the customer as the whether the advice is taken. We will not knowingly give advice that may cause harm or damage to property.
Complaints Procedure
In the unlikely event the customer finds an issue with the service provided by the company, please send your concerns to info@cmhlocal.co.uk. Upon receipt of this the company will endeavour to resolve the matter within seven days.
The company will be happy to return to the property given the opportunity to do so if an issue has arisen from the work carried out. If the fault is found to not be connected with works carried out by CMH Local then this will be a chargable revisit.
The company will use all reasonable efforts to carry out and complete the works on time, but shall not be liable to the customer or any third party if the works prove impossible due to events or circumstances beyond the company’s reasonable control.
The company shall not be liable if the works are delayed or cannot be completed on the day advised, for any financial losses to the customer, i.e loss of wages. Loss of revenue if a business

Your use of this site and any disputes arising out of such use of this website, is subject to the laws of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland & Wales.
